
Executive Director of the Colorado Agency for Recovery Residences (CARR),
Butch Lewis worked on the original legislation that created CARR’s structure in Colorado as a board member and drafted many of the policies and standards under which recovery residences in Colorado are governed. He is regarded as a go-to source for finding creative out-of-the-box solutions for struggling organizations with unique problems. Butch has worked with universities such as Harvard, MIT and non-profits as diverse as the Boy Scouts of America. Mr. Lewis is now utilizing these experiences as the Executive Director of the Colorado Agency for Recovery Residences (CARR), where he speaks with local and state officials and administrators on recovery residence issues. A particular focus on the development is rural area expansion and statewide systems for supporting quality recovery residences. He is also an advocate and resource on fair housing issues.
Butch founded, scaled, and successfully exited University Life, a collegiate marketing company, while attending Purdue and Oxford University. He was both a GM National Merit Scholar and Oxford Scholar and was selected as a Hansard Scholar by the London School of Economics. He has received two national marketing and advertising awards from the American Association of Advertising and Marketing Professionals. His most proud accomplishment outside of family was serving as a Sergeant in The United States Marine Corps, Semper Fi.
